I love my Kindle, and I love how I am able to borrow books for free from Over Drive through the local public library system.
As a media specialist I began looking into purchasing ebooks for my school, and discovered that ebooks are expensive for libraries to purchase. I wasn't completely surprised by the price options, but still ebooks libraries consider for purchasing are really expensive. At the beginning of the school year I looked at and compared a few companies for purchasing. The top contenders were Macken and Follet, but still I had issues with both. Other priorities began to consume my time, but I plan to continue to search for the best ebook vendor options.
I found the following blog post interesting, because it clearly defines the delemia that publishers place libraries in because of ebooks. And sadly, as the author points out many people do not know and understand what libraries have to go through in order to provide free ebooks.
