One of my concerns about increase dependence on e-books has been equal access to information. I love my Kindle, but to my chagrin sometimes I'm not able download and read what I would like for one reason or another. Slowly but surely solutions are being made for this new format. I'm so happy that in a few months I will be able to borrow books from OverDrive on my Kindle!
Anyway. I think the folks at Gluejar have an interesting concept about how to make e-books available to everyone. I wonder how many author's and publishers would be willing to set a price for their work; and then how many people would be willing to make a contribution to collectively pay that price to make the ebook free for everyone to read.
